RAISING THE BAR this petite lady is a powerhouse of talent--both with her distinctive voice and piano artistry. Vastly known as a formidable talent, Yvonne headlines the entertainment at many local and regional venues while always ensuring a captive audience! A culmination of her extraordinary talents can be heard and appreciated on her ever popular CD entitled "THANKS FOR THE MEMORY". EARLY BEGINNINGS Yvonne was born into a family of accomplished musicians! Her grandmother was a fine concert pianist who performed both on stage and on the radio. Yvonne's father was also a professional pianist and band leader and her mother-- an accomplished vocalist. Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, Yvonne started playing professionally at the Biltmore Hotel. She was also seen and heard in many of the other major hotels and jazz clubs in the greater Providence area while continuing to study jazz piano with Diamond Centofanti and voice with Anna Maria Saratelli, She also performed for President Bill Clinton when he and Hillary visited Rhode Island in 2002. In December of the same year, Yvonne accompanied recording artist, Billy Gilman, in a live performance on NBC'S Today show. In recent years, she has been one of the mainstays for the Bob Saraceno Ensemble while entertaining at intimate jazz clubs, private and corporate parties, and weddings--a favored event. Continually sought after for her extraordinary ability as an ACCOMPANIST, Yvonne's credits include playing for the likes of Clay Osborne, Shawnn Monteiro, Angela Baccari, Jeffery Osborne, Jim Porcella, Bob Mainelli, Rose Weaver, Nicolas King, Ida Zecco, Frank D'Arone ,Lena Prima and most recently with Amanda Carr and the "Creme De Les Femmes", an all gal Jazz Band at Scullers in Boston. Yvonne has collaboarated with many International saxophone artists including Dan Moretti, Greg Abate and the late Dick Johnson, leader of the famous Artie Shaw Band. Citing all these credits, it's in recognition of her artistry that Yvonne opened for John Pizzarelli at the Newport Blues Cafe in the summer of 2008 as an intricate link to the Dick Lupino Trio. Her diversity was again highlighted in "TRUMPET BOB DOES JAZZ BLUES", a CD collaborative produced in the fall of 2008. A NIGHT TO REMEMBER Brown Universtity celebrates the life and music of "Billie Holiday" with Yvonne as the featured artist. As a jazz voice teacher in the Applied Music Program at Brown, Yvonne's song stylings in both piano and voice along with her own unique presence, wowed the audience with her rendition of "Don't Explain" and "Dearie's Blues" . A spellbound audience rose to their feet in a spontaneous standing ovation in appreciation of what they just heard--a true compelling artist whose interpretation of the music and lyrics was flawless. Whether performing, recording or teaching, Yvonne maintains excellence at her craft while displaying true artistry in her song stylings with great emotional impact. She is all that encompasses jazz at its finest!
